The body of a 64-year-old Lake Charles man was discovered on the side of the road late Thursday afternoon near the area of Goodman Road and Opelousas Street.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kayla Vincent said the man has been identified as Larry J. Bushnell.

Vincent said it appears the Bushnell sustained were from a possible hit-and-run.

She said the coroner will determine cause of death and the investigation is continuing.

Cpl. Kerrick Gabriel Jr. is the lead investigator on this case.
