Edward Frank Webb Jr. passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the age of 68. He was a man full of life, laughter, and a true spirit of joy. Frank was born on Feb. 6,1956 in Lake Charles, La. to Edward Frank Webb Sr., and Billie Boudreaux Webb. He grew up in Lake Charles and was a 1974 graduate of LaGrange Senior High School. Between 1980 and 1985, he had two wonderful sons, Matthew and Jonathan. He worked at Conoco Phillips as a products terminal supervisor and retired in 2019.

On March 19, 1999, Frank married the love of his life, Peggy Wise Webb. They recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

Frank had various interests which enabled him to live life to the fullest. He was a long-time member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake, where he served as a Lay Minister and was active in the ACTS program. In recent years he was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. Frank belonged to Krewe du Grand Bois, where he served as King, and Krewe du Lac, where he was a Duke. He was involved in many organizations including the Lake Charles Rotary and Parrot Head Clubs, SCCA Racing, and the Economic Board and Zoning Committee for CPPJ. As his sons grew up, Frank was also the Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 86 in Westlake, where he spent many hours camping with and teaching the boys valuable life lessons.

In his free time, Frank enjoyed driving his Corvette, running 5Ks, and attending music festivals–especially Jazz Fest. He was easily recognizable every year on March 17th when he’d dress as St. Patrick in both Baton Rouge and Lake Charles. Frank enjoyed travelling, and he was an exceptional cook. He could be found most afternoons cooking something delicious for his family and friends.

Family was one of the most important things to Frank. He spent many hours with his extended family, both at home and in Texas, where he and Peggy visited quite often. You could always rest assured that Frank was going to be cracking a joke and making everyone laugh! He was exceedingly proud of his son Matthew’s service with the Westlake Fire Department and his son Jonathan’s service in the United States Army. He loved spending time with his three grandchildren. There were always doughnuts on Saturday mornings with Ava and rides on the side-by-side when Grant and Tyler visited. They were the apple of his eye, and he loved all three of them dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Billie Webb. He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Wise Webb; two sons, Matthew (Holly) Webb of Westlake and Jonathan (Kelly) Webb of Sulphur; one granddaughter, Ava Lea; two grandsons, Grant and Tyler; sister, Wendy (David) Foreman; and numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves behind countless friends who will dearly miss him.

The family will welcome the public for visitation at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 12 p.m. until time of rosary at 2 p.m. followed by A Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Consolata Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Calcasieu Community Care Center for their wonderful care of Frank over the last several weeks.
