Sedrick O. Gregory, Jr., 89, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home in Carlyss, La.  He was born in Melville, La. on Jan. 20, 1935, and lived his early years traveling to various places where his father worked.  The family settled in Sulphur, La. when he was young and he would go on to graduate from Sulphur High School in 1953.

He retired from Citgo Refinery in 1997 after 41 years of service.  After a year of staying at home he got bored, bought an RV, contracted himself out and went to work on the road as a welding inspector.  His second retirement was at the age of 72.

In his early years, Sedrick served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp.  He loved traveling and most of his conversations were about what roads were traveled and how to get from point A to B.  His love for sports and travel led him to many golf courses near and far where he played on the amateur golf circuit for 55 year olds and older.  He umpired many USSSA baseball games at Frasch Park and was also LHSAA high school basketball official for surrounding high schools for over 25 years.
