While there is no severe weather threat in Calcasieu Parish this weekend, a flash flood threat does exist.

Showers and a few storms are expected to develop late Saturday into Sunday. Some of those storms could produce heavy rainfall.

The National Weather Service Lake Charles said after this weekend, the weather across the region will become dry with no rain expected until midweek.

Rainfall totals over the weekend are predicted 1 to 2 inches with higher amounts in isolated areas, the agency said.

Minor to moderate flooding continues on the lower Neches, the Sabine and the Calcasieu rivers. Additional rainfall could lead to a short-term rise in water levels, but at this time, no significant rises or increased impacts are expected.
