Washington-Marion’s Taylar Brown won four gold medals on Thursday at the LaGrange Gator Relays to lead the Charging Indian girls to a runner-up team finish.

The junior started the day off winning the long jump with a distance of 16 feet, nine inches and beating the rest of the field by more than foot.

She won her other three golds on the track, starting with a 13.09 run in the 100-meter dash. She followed that up with wins in the 400 (1:02.15) and 200 (26.62).

W-M finished second to the Tors 158-120. The Tors were led by Mya Charles (1st in shotput, 2nd in discus) and hurdler Gabby Trent, who took second in the 100 and 300 hurdles.

On the boys side, Sam Houston ran away with the team title, scoring 210 points while Sulphur was second with 132.

The Broncos won nine of 15 individual events. Senior Trenton Monceaux swept the hurdles, winning the 110 in 16.04 seconds and the 300 in 42.57.

Hamilton Christian was third in both team title races, led by a pair of underclassmen.

Sophomore Kaleb Bigwoods won the boys 400 (54.76) and 800 (2:06.36), while eighth grader Milah Ballou won the girls 800 (2:43.12) and 1600 (6:03.12) run.
