The city of Lake Charles Recreation and Parks Department will begin accepting registrations for its Summer Exploration Adventures beginning Wednesday, April 10.

Registration for the 2024 sessions will be available online only at www.cityoflakecharles.com/summercamp. Registration will be open through Thursday, May 23.

Summer Exploration Adventures are open to children ages 5-10 with limited space available at each site. Cost is $40 per week and lunch will be provided. Camps will be held Monday through Friday, June 3 through July 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Camp will not be held on Wednesday, June 19 or Thursday, July 4, due to City-observed holidays.

Each week, campers will embark on a new adventure with weekly themes set to include the following: Community Super Heroes, Character Books, Aviation, Louisiana’s Animal Kingdom, Olympic Games, STEM, Performing Arts and Splish Splash.

Site locations include Bellard Community Center (2808 Hillcrest Dr.); College Oaks Community Center (3518 Ernest St.); Henry Heights Community Center (801 East School St.) and Donald Ray Stevens Community Center (1619 Cessford St.).

An optional t-shirt can be ordered at the time of registration. The cost is $10 per shirt.
