South Beauregard jumped out to a 6-0 to win its fifth consecutive game.

The Knights played some small ball early to open the scoring. With one out in the top of the second inning and the infield rushing in, Christian Wold popped a bunt behind the pitcher’s mound, allowing N. Fontenot to score.

South Beauregard added three more runs in the fourth inning, including a two-run single by G. Courtney, and two in the fifth inning on an error and passed ball.

St. Louis left five runners stranded in the first four innings but was able to cut the Knights’ lead down to three, 6-3, in the sixth inning. The Saints got three consecutive singles to start the inning, including Ethan Posch’s hit to right field to score Brecken Bordelon. Posch scored on a sacrifice fly by Talan Tourelle.

Senior left-hander Clayton Folks scattered seven hits over five innings to earn the win. He struck out four, walked two and gave up three earned runs. St. Louis started to rally in the sixth inning, but Jace Duhon came in with no outs and shut the down on the Saints. He struck out three, including one each to close out the sixth and seventh innings.
