Carol Ruth (Pryne) Fontenot, 65, of Sulphur, La. passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024. She was born on April 26, 1958 in Beaumont, Texas. She enjoyed hiking, traveling, quilting, bird watching, and volunteer work at the ABC Pregnancy Center, CASA, and the Sulphur Community Coalition. She retired after 31 years of service at Meyer and Associates. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur. 

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, David Fontenot; son, Chris Fontenot (Jacqueline) of Lubbock, Texas; sister, Vicki McMillian (Joe) of N.J.; along with her brother, Raymond Pryne of Navasota, Texas.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Paula Pryne and Ruth Pryne. 

A Celebration of Carol’s life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, La. on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 9 a.m., with Bro. Michael Linton officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, from 8 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Sulphur, La.
