Residents invited to recycle electronics at annual Citgo E-Recycle Day

The Citgo Lake Charles Refinery and community partners invite Southwest Louisiana residents to recycle their unwanted electronics in an environmentally responsible way at the annual Citgo E-Recycle Day. The event will take place 8-11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Lake Charles Event Center.

Acceptable recycling items include: computers, printers, fax machines, keyboards, photocopiers, TVs, VCRs, stereos, home and office phones, household electronics, tablets and gaming consoles. Acceptable mercury items include: lamps (fluorescent, high-intensity discharge, neon, mercury vapor and metal halide), thermostats and thermometers containing metallic or liquid mercury. Only residential deliveries will be accepted.

Unacceptable items include: microwaves, smoke detectors, fire alarms, dehumidifiers, batteries, large appliances (i.e., refrigerators) or medical equipment units with liquids.
