Oertling out as St. Louis Catholic boys soccer coach

After more than three decades associated with St. Louis Catholic, Jason Oertling is out as the Saints head soccer coach.

The official Facebook account of the St. Louis Catholic Athletic Department made the announcement Friday afternoon.

“As a staple in our community for 30-plus years, Coach Jason Oertling has given St. Louis Catholic a lifetime of memories. We want to wish Coach ‘O’ success in his future endeavors and best wishes.”

Alex Kjellsten, who lead the girls team to the Division III finals in February, has been named interim head coach.

Oertling, who was a multi-sport athlete for the Saints in the late 1980s and early 90s, led the Saints to 13 state championships, including seven in eight seasons from 2010 to 2017, plus 661 wins.
