Deputies observed the vehicle traveling at a high speed on the interstate and began pursuit, Ivey said.

Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle at which time the vehicle fled, he said.

After evading deputies for several miles, the vehicle was successfully spiked on La 102 near the intersection of La. 26. The vehicle continued traveling westbound on La 102 crossing La 26 airborne over the roadway before crashing into two parked vehicles near Hathaway High School, Ivey said.

Both occupants were transported to the hospital and remain in the hospital on Monday. Charges are pending their release.

Louisiana State Police assisted in the crash investigation.
