A 65-year-old woman was the victim killed Saturday night during a drive-by shooting on West Tank Farm Road.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said multiple rounds were fired, at which time a bullet traveled through a residence, striking Annette D. Touvell, who was inside.

Touvell was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

Vincent said another home in the area was also struck, but no one inside the home was injured.

“We have no reason to believe this home or family was specifically targeted during the shooting. My heart goes out to the victim’s family; this is a sad and tragic situation where an innocent victim lost their life to a senseless crime,” Sheriff Tony Mancuso said. “Detectives are currently following up on several leads, as well as canvassing the neighborhood for further video footage and possible evidence.”
