An Arlington, Texas, man was arrested Tuesday in Iowa, La., for human trafficking after being pulled over for a traffic stop on Interstate 10.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said a detective with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force was conducting criminal patrol when he conducted a traffic stop at 9 a.m. on Interstate 10 near mile marker 42 in Iowa.

Vincent said when the deputy made contact with the driver — Kevin D. Ricks, 27 — he was unable to answer simple questions and showed signs of nervousness.
