Joseph “Bull” Dean Johnson

Joseph Dean “Bull” Johnson, 45, died on Jan. 21, 2024. Joseph was born on Oct. 28, 1978, in Alexandria, La. to Michael Johnson and Lynda Ellington. 

He married the love of his life on March 31, 2012, and they resided in Vinton, La. where he cherished day dates, time with his boys and his time on the water and camping. He also loved the times spent traveling with his family and was always the life of the party. Bull graduated from Avoyelles High School in 1996.

Joe was a part of the RigNet/Viasat family since 2012 where he was a valued Senior Field Technician, he was a constant and positive influence for the Ops team. Joe often mentored fellow technicians and had a willingness to always get the job done by going the extra mile.

He leaves behind his wife, Hannah McClelland Johnson; sons, Greyson Johnson and Beckett Johnson; mother, Lynda Ellington of Alexandria; brothers, Michael (Heather) Johnson of Alexandria and Robert Johnson (Misti Vincent) of Ponchatoula; sister, Melissa Johnson (Matthew Harding) of Alexandria; maternal grandmother, Audrey Ellington of Alexandria; mother-in-law, Sondra Schwaab (Tom); father-in-law, Calvin “Bud” McClelland (Missy); brothers-in-law, Bryan (Markee) and Steven; and sister-in-law, Ammisty (CR) Fountain; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. 

Joseph was Preceded in death by his father, Michael Johnson; his paternal grandparents, Merlin and Sybil Johnson; and his maternal grandfather, Jack Ellington. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Friday at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Pastor Rob Tibbitts will officiate services.
