Richard Lee Holliday, age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, surrounded by his family. Richard was born Aug. 5, 1947, in New Orleans, La. to parents Merrill and Eunice Holliday. He lived a life full of love and adventure and will be greatly missed by all.

Richard was married for 51 years to the love of his life, Cynthia Guidry Holliday. Cynthia knew immediately after their first meeting that he would be the man she would spend the rest of her life with. They were married 11 months later and built a life together full of love for each other, their daughters, and their grandchildren. He worked as a chemical engineer for PPG Industries for 35 years and retired in 2005 as the Works Manager of the Lake Charles, La. Complex. After retirement, he and Cynthia sailed their way across the globe visiting six continents and 60 countries. He also took up golf, taking his first lesson the day after his retirement, and had a standing tee time three times a week with his golfing buddies.  In addition to traveling and attending any and all of his grandchildren’s activities, he also enjoyed solving complicated sudoku problems, conquering 1000-piece puzzles, cooking with his family and anything else he could “fit in to his busy schedule”. He was also a huge fan of his alma mater Mississippi State University and especially loved watching them win the 2021 NCAA College World Series. Hail State!

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Merrill and Eunice Holliday, and his brother, Thomas Holliday.
