James Clark Abercrombie

James “Clark” Abercrombie, 85, of Moss Bluff, after a lengthy Illness of Progressive Supranueclear Palsy, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023 in the Harbor Hospice House.

Clark was born on July 1, 1938 in Lake Charles to the late James Wayne and Anna Ruth Abercrombie. He was reared in Lake Charles and a 1957 graduate of LaGrange High School. Upon graduation he joined the Navy and spent most of his time stationed in Italy. After serving in the Navy, he spent 38 years working and retired from the State of LA DOTD, one year later he returned to the work force working 20 years for the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury.

Prior to his illness, he spent much of his time wood working in his shop, helping others and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Delaine Henry, of 51 years; his daughter, Ashlie Abercrombie Allardyce; son, Daniel Abercrombie and wife, Danielle; grandchildren, Noah Oakes, Anna Kate, and Lillian Allardyce; Miley P. and Oliver Henry Abercrombie; many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lettie Abercrombie Meddows; brother, Wayne “Bokey” Abercrombie, and son in law, David Oakes Allardyce.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023 at Hixson’s in Lake Charles. Interment will be at Old Richey Cemetery in Moss Bluff. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service. Reverand Gary Evers will officiate.
