KPLC’s John Bridges is the host of the show, which turns back the clock to postwar Lake Charles and features the late arts legend Rosa Hart (JoAnn Hanks) rounding up performers to air the show.

Tommy McGrady and Chelsea Klumpp star as George and Mary Bailey, the James Stewart-Donna Reed film roles.

Ashe Wolski, Kyle Adamson and Erin Heath portray their children; Julian Quebedeaux is war-hero brother Harry; Richard Lonny Doss and JoAnn Hanks play George’s parents; and Evan Seago is the hapless Uncle Billy.

Chris Higginbotham plays the guardian angel Clarence, who helps George realize it’s a wonderful life, while Edward Schilling is the misanthropic Mr. Potter, seeking to break George’s spirit.

Characters include the appealing Violet Bick (Kathy Heath), the grateful druggist Mr. Gower (Joshua Macer), and Tilly the office girl (Kayla Weber).

Other performers are Kenny, Heather and Kyle Adamson; Taylor Gilbert; Joshua Macer; Nettra Soileau; and Angelina Higginbotham; and Amanda Yellott.

The broadcast features “commercials” from notable local businesses of yesteryear, including Muller’s Department Store, George Theriot’s groceries and Cagle Motors. The announcers include Gary Shanon, Donna Little, Richard Lonny Doss and Melissa Macer.

The “station breaks” also feature live Christmas carols sung by an a cappella studio choir of Ashe Wolski, Richie Hebert, Morgan Belle Leday, Amber Quebedeaux, Evan Seago, Nicole Adamson, Evangeline Macer and Connor Adamson.

David Wynn, station manager and program director at KBYS, is the technical director.

“It’s a Wonderful Life” is part of LCLT’s 97th anniversary season.
