The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Marine Division recovered a body Thursday afternoon in the waterway near Old Highway 90/ Burnout Bridge in Vinton.

Due to the investigation being in the preliminary stages, it is unknown at this time if foul play is involved, said spokesperson Kayla Vincent.

“The investigation is continuing and more information will be released once it becomes available.  The coroner will determine cause of death,” Vincent said.
