Alvyn’s greatest pride was being a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed cooking, reading about history, and reciting poetry. Every Christmas, family would gather to hear Al recount from memory “The Cremation of Sam McGee” by Robert Service, without missing a beat. He loved children, especially his nieces and nephews. Memories will remain of him entertaining the kids with song.

Alvyn was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Lake Charles. He was a devout Catholic, spiritual and generous. Al was more than humble, he was respectful of the beliefs and thoughts of all.

A graduate of Louisiana State University, Al was a chemical engineer and plant manager of TDC, LLC., a Genesis Energy operations site in Westlake, La.

Tammy and Anna would like to thank Dr. Bryan Barrilleaux of Lake Charles, the Neurotrauma Unit of Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center, Alvyn’s colleagues at Genesis Energy, friends and family for their love, support, and prayers.

A visitation in his honor will be held on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Convent, La. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Funeral procession will follow to the St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina, La. for interment.
