Charles “Bobby” Taylor Sr., 78, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Oct. 8 2023, surrounded by his family.

Charles was born in Lafayette, La. on Aug. 15, 1945. On March 31,1967 Charles met and married his wife, LaVona Huesers. He worked for over 35 years at Hercules, Himont and Lyondell Basell as a plant operator. After retiring and not being able to sit still for more than five minutes, he went on to work at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s department as a bailiff at the courthouse for over 10 years. During this time, he enjoyed daily interactions with everyone he came into contact with hoping to make a positive influence on anyone he met, helping hundreds get their lives back on track.

Charles was a devoted father, grandfather, family member, and friend. He thrived off of the time he spent with his loved ones, his daughter-in-law’s yellow rice and chicken, deep conversations, and his grand, and great-grandchildren. He wore the name “Paw Paw” loud and proud to all those who would listen. Over the years he became quite the soccer fan, watching or going to and cheering at his grandson’s games.
