Gertrude  Olan Pickles

Gertrude Landry Pickles, 87, of Moss Bluff, La. passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at J Michael Morrow Memorial nursing home in Arnaudville, La. in which she has resided over the last year.  She was born to her late parents, Adam and Eda Landry on Nov. 12, 1935, in Lacassine, La.

Gertrude worked in the banking industry for Calcasieu Marine National Bank and SW Louisiana Credit Union for many years.  She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff, La., and was involved with her Sunday School Class and enjoyed their monthly outings.

Gertrude is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Pickles Sr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Tim Sawyer; her parents, Adam and Eda Landry; and her sister, Belle Atkinson.

Gertrude is survived by her daughters, Sallie Lindsay (John) of DeRidder, La.; Rosie Kolarik (Hank) of DeRidder, La., and Anna Theriot (Martin) of Arnaudville, La.; her sons, George Pickles (Marilyn) of Lacassine, La., Tommy Pickles (Paula) of Longville, La., and Homer Pickles Jr. of Irving, Texas; sisters, Shirley Johnson (Curley) of Hemphill, Texas, Cindy Rohrer (Roger) of Sulphur, La.; along with a host of grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, La. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, La. following visitation at 1 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, La.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for her caregivers, especially the B Hall Nurses and CNA’S,in her final days giving her and the family much comfort.
