Carmen Ann Perello Lovinggood

Carmen Ann Perello Lovinggood, 87, passed away Monday, March 6, at 3:02 a.m. with her two children by her side.
A native of Lake Charles, Carmen was born on Oct. 12, 1935, to Andrew and Marie Perello. She attended St. Charles Academy and Lake Charles High School. While attending McNeese State University, she met her husband, Charles (Charlie) William Lovinggood.
Before becoming a mother, Carmen worked for the Telephone Company. In 1982, she became the secretary for the counselors’ office at LaGrange High School. Her greatest joy was caring for her children and her grandsons.
Survivors include her son, David Charles Lovinggod (Darlene) of Mont Belvieu, Texas; and daughter, Susan Hebert Wimberly (Walter) of Lake Charles. She leaves four grandsons, Keith David Lovinggood (Taylor), Joseph Charles Lovinggood (Mallory), both of Mont Belvieu, Texas, Matthew William Hebert (Erin) of Lake Charles, and Michael Scott Hebert (Emily) of Shreveport, La.; three great-grandchildren, Harper Rae Lovinggood, Wesley Charles Lovinggood, and Ella Jane Lovinggood; and her niece, Rhonda Scofelia Kirchhoff (Pat) of Wimberley, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles William Lovinggood; sister, Marie Perello Scofelia; and great-granddaughter, Cecilia Marie Hebert.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, in St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church with Monsignor Jace Eskind celebrating under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 10, with a rosary at 6 p.m. and 9:30 -10:30 a.m. March 11, in the funeral home. Pall bearers will be her four grandsons, Paul Ritter Jr., and Choppy Guillotte.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Sage Oaks and Amedysis Hospice. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
