Falando Megale Simon, Sr., 48, departed this life on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at his home in Lake Charles, La. He was born June 28, 1974, to Royla James Simon and Jewell Eva Simon in Lake Charles, La. He graduated from Washington-Marion High School and attended Southern University and A&M College. He worked at the City of Lake Charles until his retirement. He loved coaching, football, basketball, listening to music, break dancing, helping kids, doing handy man work and working for the Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Delores Louise Simon; and mother, Jewell Eva Simon, both of Lake Charles, La.; four children, Falando Simon Jr., Deontre R. Bartie, Dillon J. Simon and Dakia Knatt, all of Lake Charles, La.; siblings, Alonzo J. Simon (Zamantha) of Santa Fe, N.M., and Jackie C. Patrick of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Khloe Renee Banks, Marlei Delores Eddie and Kaelix-Megale Simon; nephews, Ethan Simon and Elias Simon; godchildren, Meyah Woods, Teagan McArthur, Antonio Duce McArthur Jr. and Titus McArthur; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Royla James Simon; one daughter, Alaysha Simon; and his maternal grandmother, Serena Lartigue Bilbo.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at 9 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m. at Mill Street Church of Christ, Pastor Courtney Jones, officiating. Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King’s Funeral Home.
