John Clady Ardoin

John Clady Ardoin, age 84, of Welsh, La., was called home to be with his Savior on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023. He was born to parents Hampton and Rena Ardoin on Jan. 2, 1939, in Basile, La.
He graduated from Basile high school where he was a proud Bearcat who excelled at football. John was known to be very busy during his high school years being a student but also being enlisted with the National Guard where he learned welding as a trade.
After graduating he enlisted in the Marines and remained for 2 years before returning home. He was a hard working man and worked for Lo-Lift in Welsh, La., Hunt Tool in Jennings, La., and retired from PPG in Lake Charles, La. While working a full time job he maintained a family and a farm.
John was known as a loving family man. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, breeding horses, and working the cows. He was a jack of all trades.
He loved his God and shared his faith with his family. As a child he served as an altar boy in Basile, La and had a good relationship with the church. He attended Mass at Our Lady of Seven Dolors in Welsh, La., after marrying his spouse, Lydia Arceneaux, of 61 years.
He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 0283 and VFW 9046 of Welsh, La.; he felt that he was more a part of the Welsh Community after joining.
He is welcomed into heaven by his parents; brothers, Allen and Ray Ardoin; sister, Joycelyn Thatcher, and infant son, Jonathan Ardoin.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Lydia Ardoin; son, Charles Hampton Ardoin; and sister, Frances Leger.
Visitation for John will be held at Hixson Welsh Chapel on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m.
Visitation will resume on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at 8 a.m. until procession to Our Lady of Seven Dolors in Welsh for services at 11 a.m. Father Susil Fernando and Deacon Wayne Chapman will officiate.
Graveside service will be held at Oaklawn cemetery in Welsh, La.
The pallbearers will be Noel Arceneaux, Chris Miller, Mike Billedeaux, Jeremy Davis, Brent Ardoin. Honorary pallbearers are Alvin Cox and Ryan Hughes.
