Fannie S. Duplechin

Fannie S. Duplechin, 98, of Sulphur, La., passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at her residence. She was born to her late parents, Lee and Fannie Scallan on Oct. 10, 1924, in Bunkie, La. Fannie loved to sew and cook, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a long time parishioner at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur, La.
She is survived by her children, Wayne Duplechin (Natalie) of DeQuincy, La., Gary Duplechin (Carmen) of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Devitt A. Duplechin Jr. of Sulphur, La.; grandchildren, Sarah Paugh (Alex), Patrick Duplechin (Jessica), Amy Manning (Dean), Joe Duplechin (Christina), Tammy Evans (Jason) and Dylan Duplechin; seven great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Fannie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Devitt Duplechin Sr.; parents; along with four sisters; and one brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur, La., on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Father John Welch officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, La., on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery in Westlake, La.
