James Allen Bello, 82, of Lake Charles, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, in a local healthcare facility.
Mr. Bello was born Aug. 13, 1940, to Jimmie Joseph Bello and Ella Amond Bello in Lakeland, La. He was a graduate of Lakeland High School, Louisiana State University and served the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Mr. Bello worked most of his career as a claims adjuster for the U.S. Social Security Administration Lake Charles Office. He was an avid runner, a member of the Lake Area Runners, participated in countless marathons and runners events in Southwest Louisiana including the Contraband Days 5 miler. His greatest times were shared with his love, Gloria cruising the Caribbean. Mr. Bello will be most remembered for his smile and his love for his family.
He leaves to honor his memory, his wife of 28 years, Gloria Kennedy Bello of Lake Charles; two stepchildren that he considered his own, Charles L. Kennedy III and wife Kindra of Dallas, Texas, and April Kennedy of Lake Charles, as well as their children that he loved as his own, Jared, Jonah and Carsyn Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by his only son, Christopher Allen Bello of Carlyss; and his parents.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Steve Shirley will officiate. Inurnment will follow services.
