Cold front will push through area tonight

The U.S. National Weather Service of Lake Charles warns of severe weather and flood potential this afternoon into tonight.

National Weather Service Lake Charles Meteorologist Donald Jones said a cold front will push through the area this evening. Showers and thunderstorms are expected ahead of the front, with some storms having the potential to become severe.

While the day throughout Southwest Louisiana has been relatively quiet, residents should still expect another round of strong-to-severe thunderstorms to move through late tonight.

Sunny skies are expected tomorrow as cooler drier air moves into the air. Strong northerly winds of 10 to 20 mph gusting to 30 mph Wednesday.

All residents from southeast Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi are urged to have a means to receive warning alerts overnight.
