Calcasieu Parish

All Calcasieu Parish Police Jury departments will be closed on Thursday-Friday, Nov. 24-25, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. All offices will reopen Monday, Nov. 28.

Waste Management will also be closed on Thanksgiving. Garbage and trash normally picked up on Thursday will be picked up on Friday and garbage and trash normally picked up on Friday will be picked up on Saturday.

The Solid Waste Convenience Centers, located at 5500 B Swift Plant Road in Lake Charles and at 2915 Post Oak Road in Sulphur, will also be closed Thursday. They will reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday.

City of Lake Charles

The city of Lake Charles will observe the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday. There will not be any trash or garbage picked up on that day. Trash and garbage regularly scheduled for pickup on Thursday will be rescheduled for pickup on Friday; Friday’s regular pickup will be rescheduled for Saturday.

All recycling stations, including the Wood Waste Facility and the Nelson Ball Field (Alma Lane) will be closed on Thursday. Normal hours will resume on Friday.

All other services of the Department of Public Works and other city departments will also close on Thursday and Friday. Regular hours will resume on Monday.

Calcasieu libraries

All branches and facilities of the Calcasieu Parish Public Library system will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday and Friday.

Items can be renewed online at www.calcasieulibrary.org and clicking on the My Account icon at the top of the page or by using the chat feature found on the website, however no fines will be charged during the holiday.

Chennault

The offices of the Chennault International Airport Authority will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Sulphur 

All city of Sulphur offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Per Waste Management, there will be a one-day delay in service. Thursday customers will receive trash collection on Friday and Friday customers will receive trash collection on Saturday.

Allen Parish

Most parish and state offices in Allen Parish will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25 for Thanksgiving.

The Allen Parish Police Jury offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Allen Parish Registrar of Voters Office will be closed Thursday and Friday. It will be open 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, for early voting.

Allen Parish schools are closed until Monday.

All Allen Parish libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The city of Oakdale will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Town of Kinder will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Town of Oberlin will close at noon on Wednesday and be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.

Cameron

Waste Management will be closed on Thanksgiving Day to allow employees to spend time with their families. Services will resume on Friday for Thursday routes and Saturday for Friday routes.

Jeff Davis Parish

Most parish and state offices will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.

The Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Jeff Davis Parish Registrar of Voters Office will be closed Thursday and Friday. It will be open 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26 for early voting.

Jeff Davis Parish schools will be closed until Monday.

All Jeff Davis Parish libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Carnegie Public Library in Jennings will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday. It will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday.

The city of Jennings will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving. There will be no trash pick up on Thursday. Trash regularly picked up on Thursday will be picked up on Friday and Friday’s pickup will be on Saturday.

The town of Lake Arthur will be closed Thursday and Friday. There is no change in trash service.

The town of Welsh will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving. There will be no trash pick up on Thursday. Thursday trash will be picked up on Friday.
