Hilda P. Chiasson, age 93, of Welsh, La., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022. She was born Dec. 11, 1928, to Dominic and Pauline Broussard Leleux.
Hilda was a native of Estherwood and resident of Welsh for most of her life where she was a parishioner of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, a Eucharistic Minister, Sacristan, and lector. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, East Deanery Serra Club, and Companion of Honor Society.
Those to left to cherish her memory are her children, Cynthia Ardoin, Beth C. Parker and husband Tim, Robert J. Chiasson Jr. and wife Kim, and Mark S. Chiasson and wife Melanie; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Robert J. Chiasson Sr.; brothers, Wilbur, Harold and Loren Leleux; sisters, Shirley L. Harris and Carrie L. Cramer; and a grandson, Nicholas A. Chiasson.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, beginning at 8:30 a.m. until the procession leaves for the church at 12:45 p.m. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church followed by an interment in the church mausoleum.
