The 2023-2024 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application becomes available online on Saturday, Oct. 1, and McNeese State University students are
reminded they must reapply each year and can start the application process now.

For those who need assistance, McNeese is hosting Tackle College Thursdays. Students can receive one-one-one assistance in completing their FAFSA application and
setting up a FSA (Federal Student Aid) ID every Thursday in October and November from 2-4 p.m. at Student Central in Chozen Hall on the corner of McNeese and Ryan
streets.

High school students and their parents are also welcome.

The McNeese State University Office of Financial Aid will also present several free financial aid workshops at area high schools in October for students and their parents to explain financial aid application procedures.

“We encourage all high school seniors and anyone wishing to attend McNeese for the 2023-24 school year to complete their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) in October of each year. May 1 is McNeese’s priority date for financial aid but October is when students can start the FAFSA application process,” said Taina Savoit, financial aid director.

Five regional workshops will be offered at night for students from any high school and their families to attend.

Savoit said both students and their parents are encouraged to attend the workshops to learn more about eligibility, the application process and requirements and the timeline to apply for financial aid.
