Corrine Benoit Willis

Corrine Benoit Willis, age 89, of Lake Charles, La. passed away on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022. Corrine was born July 28, 1933 to Eli Benoit and Alida LaBove.
Corrine was native and lifelong resident of Cameron, La. where she was an active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was a devout Christian who was very strong in her faith until the very end. Family was always very important to Aunt Corrine.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Norma Lee Bourriaque; “grandson”, Jason Trahan and wife Meghan; “great grandchildren”, Andrew and Anna Catherine Trahan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordie Willis; daughter, Charlene Willis; son, Carless Willis; brothers, Winston Benoit and Herbert Benoit; sisters, Lorraine Miller, Barbara Trahan, Mary Ann Trahan, and Olive Rutherford.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022 at 10 a.m. until the time of services with a rosary to be prayed at 12 p.m. by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Katharine Drexel of Creole. A Liturgy of the Word will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Burial will be immediately following at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Creole. The Rev. Jerish George, M.O.C., Pastor will be officiating at the services.
