CPSO: Robbery followed Lake Charles car crash

Four men have been arrested and accused of robbery following a traffic crash on Ryan Street on Saturday, Aug. 13.

At about 2:30 p.m. that day Calcasieu Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home on Perry Lane in reference to a robbery

Deputies say during the initial investigation they learned that following a traffic collision involving a hit-and-run on Ryan Street the occupants of a car involved in the wreck followed another individual involved, who was leaving the scene, to his residence.

Once at the home four unknown males exited the car and demanded money from the individual who left the scene.  The suspects surrounded the man, pulled him into the roadway and began hitting him while demanding payment.  Witnesses advised detectives when the suspects realized they were being watched they allowed the victim to stand up and walk to his front door, while they followed him.

The victim advised detective he asked another individual inside the home to pay the suspects so they would leave.  While attempting to send money using a mobile payment app one of the suspects stole the victim’s phone.  It was later discovered the suspect sent multiple monetary transactions from the victim’s account to his.

After further investigation detectives were able to identify the suspects as, Allen D. Johnson, Jr., 21, Lake Charles, Donald G Wilson, Jr., 21, Lake Charles, Jaden Johnson, 20, Lake Charles, and Adrian L. Brown, 21, Houston, TX.  When attempting to locate the suspects, detectives located the suspects’ car with damages consistent with the traffic crash.

On Aug. 25 they were all arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of simple robbery.  When detectives located Allen and Donald they were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  They were additionally charged with possession of CDS I with intent to distribute; and possession of drug paraphernalia; Judge Tony Fazzio set their bond at $85,000.  Judge Tony Fazzio set Jaden and Adrian’s bond at $80,000.

CPSO Detective Lukas Josker is the lead investigator on this case.  The Lake Charles City Police is investigating the actual crash.

LCPD is handling the crash but CPSO detectives say they were informed that their victim was involved in a crash with another vehicle, at which time the victim’s van was pushed into the car that was occupied by the four men ultimately arrested.

The victim told deputies he got out of the car at which time the men began demanding money at the scene of the crash.  He stated he got back into the van and left the scene due to fear.  The other vehicle in the crash remained at the scene at which time LCPD arrived and worked the crash.

According to CPSO, the four suspects in the car also left the scene and  never reported they were involved in the crash or that there was damages to their car.
