Joseph LaFleur

Joseph LaFleur was born on Jan. 12, 1966 in Ville Platte, La. He was one of six children born to Yourick and Mary Lee LaFleur. Joe, 56, passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022. He was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and a 1985 graduate of Lake Charles Boston High School. Joe was a proud employee of Turner Industries for over 20 years. He enjoyed cooking, spending time with his best friends (dogs) Cooper and Jax, and watching his favorite NFL team, The Dallas Cowboys. He had a great love for his church family, where he served on the Usher board. He loved being a dad and never missed his son’s football games, no matter how far or near they were. Joe leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 34 years Debbie LaFleur; his son, Jared LaFleur; four brothers, Pastor Fredrick (Brenda) LaFleur Sr., Calvin (Deborah) LaFleur, Jimmy (Dorothy) LaFleur, and Hilton (Celena) LaFleur; and one sister, Tammie (Eddie) Moore. Godchildren, Devin “Cush” Thomas, Tyrek Wright, and Aubrey Dixon; with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family. Joe is proceeded in death by his parents, Yourick and Mary Lee LaFleur; his father-in-law, Clarence August; and nephew, Corey LaFleur.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in New Covenant Faith Baptist Church. Funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022 at 12 p.m. in New Civenant Faith Baptist Church, Pastor Frederick LaFleur Sr. will officiate.
