A Lake Arthur man was arrested Wednesday while his wife is being sought after a police investigation into a molestation of a juvenile involving the couple last year.

Colby Case Manuel, 28, was arrested on charges of molestation of a juvenile and cruelty to juveniles after an arrest warrant was issued on Tuesday.

On Thursday, detectives issued an arrest warrant for Colby Manuel’s wife, Brooklyn Lafleur Manuel, 25, of Lake Arthur.

Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Chris Ivey said Brooklyn Manuel is being sought on charges of molestation of a juvenile, cruelty to a juvenile and failure to report certain felonies in connection with the incident.

Brooklyn Manuel was allegedly present when the molestation took place and did not report it to authorities or try to stop it, Ivey said.

The report was made earlier this year, but the incident is believed to have occurred last year, Ivey said.
