Terrell Henry King, 78, of Texarkana, Texas, died June 13, 2022, at St. Michael’s Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born Nov. 26, 1944, in Lake Charles, La., the son of Henry Lou Randolph Thomas and Stanley King, and stepfather, Walter Thomas.
On Dec. 29, 1967, he married the late, Theresa Marie Thomas.
He graduated from Carver High School in Kinder, La., and Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. He was member of Southern University ROTC.
In 1969, he was the first African American assistant juvenile probation officer in Beaumont, Texas.
In 1970, he was the president of the Jefferson County Welfare Association in Beaumont, Texas.
He is survived by his daughther, Tanya Renee King Bell and son-in-law, William Brooke Bell Sr. of Lake Charles, La.; son, Terrell Jermaine King of Texarkana, Texas; grandsons, William Brooke Bell Jr. and Ryan Rashad Bell, all of Lake Charles, La.; sister, Mary King Thomas Johnson of Leblanc, La.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Marie Thomas King; grandson, Brandon Brooke Bell; father, Stanley King; stepfather, Walter “Blackie” Thomas; sister, Faye Dejean; and mother, Henry Lou Thomas.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Combre Funeral Home chapel. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 2 p.m. in Combre Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
