Denzil Ralph Young Jr., 76, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in a local hospital.
Jack was born Feb. 9, 1946, in Burnet, Texas. He was a loving father, grandfather and companion. He was most known for his smile and Big Bear Hugs! He made friends instantly with his easy-going nature and great sense of humor. Jack enjoyed being an industrial salesman for many years. On his time off you could find him with his fishing pole, or ready to go hunting. Jack loved the outdoors, but most of all loved sharing his stories.
Those left to cherish Jack’s memory include his son, Jason Price Young and wife Tracy of Lake Charles, La.; daughter, Kimberly Dawn Young of Lake Charles, La.; four grandchildren, Nola Kate Young, Savey Price Young, Sophie Paige Young and Decker Blaine Young; and especially, his best friend and companion, Betty Youngblood of Lake Charles.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Denzil Young Sr. and Kate Pogue Young; and two sisters, Beverly Jane Field and Sondra Kay Gilmore.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Home. Pastor Barrett Navarre will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Cremation will follow the services.
