KINDER — Arthur Lee Sonnier, age 69, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, with his wife and children at his side. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Burial will follow in McRill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Wednesday evening from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday morning from 8 am. until time of service.
Arthur, affectionately known as “Doogie,” was born and raised in Kinder. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, cooking and spending time with his family. Even though family always came first, working at Mike Hooks, L.L.C. for the last 52 years gave him great accomplishment, pride, and an amazing work family. Arthur will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Katy, recently having celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; daughter, Susan Battaglia (Michael); son, Scott Sonnier; grandchildren, Kenny Battaglia (Liz) and Nicholas Battaglia; sisters, Rose Fontenot (Paul), Alvena Williams and Angie Sonnier; and brothers, Jimmy Sonnier and Poochie Sonnier (Anita).
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Julia Sonnier.
