The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning Tuesday wreck in DeQuincy that left one dead.

“The driver of the car was transported to a local hospital where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash,” Vincent said. “Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.”

The investigation is continuing, she said.

Impairment is not suspected, but as mandated by state law a toxicology report will be conducted on both drivers.

Next of kin has not been notified so the driver’s name is not being released at this time.

The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.

Lt. Bryan Guth is the lead investigators of this accident.
