Tracy Diane Bradbury Carter, 51, of Grand Chenier was welcomed into Heaven, Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021 from the comfort of her home.
Mrs. Carter was born and raised in Denver, and raised in Maybell and Craig, Colo., where she graduated from Moffat County High School. Once married, Grand Chenier and Southwest Louisiana came to be her home. She worked with the Cameron Parish School Board as a member, a substitute teacher and traffic control guard while her children were in school. Mrs. Carter found great joy in being an active part of their school parties, events and functions. She also worked with her husband as an administrator for their family Cattle Ranch and the past five years, as a Bridge Operator for the Louisiana State Department of Transportation and Development. She enjoyed being outdoors, working in her yard and during her younger years, traveling to Colorado for family camping vacations. She was well known for her soft spot for animals, raising Corgis and rescuing countless strays as well as feeding hundreds of hummingbirds during their bi-annual migration through this area. Mrs. Carter will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her family.
She leaves to honor her memory, her husband of 31 years, Brandon Jerome Carter of Grand Chenier; son, Brandyn Wayne Carter (Kristin) of Lake Charles; daughter, Lauren Ashley Carter of Grand Chenier; two grandsons, Reece Lack and Wyatt Carter; mother, Lynnette Wagner Bradbury of Westlake; sister, Yvette Bradbury of Westlake; nephew, Shannon Bradbury (Lauren) of Lake Charles; and numerous friends and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Raymond Bradbury; and sister, Katie Bradbury Beard.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2022 at University Baptist Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Rod Vincent will officiate. Interment will follow in Sweetlake-Grand Lake Community Cemetery. Visitation Monday will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service in the church.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the physicians and nurses as well as Heart of Hospice for their loving and compassionate care to our dear Tracy and us during these difficult days.
