Ronald  Gene King Sr.

Ronald Gene King Sr., age 67, of Sulphur, La. went to be with his  Lord and Savior on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021. Ronald was born on Feb. 6, 1954. 

Gene was a native of Sulphur and lifetime member of Houston River Baptist Church. Gene retired from Strategic Petroleum Reserve in Hackberry. Gene loved to fish and hunt and was known to help anyone in need. The most important thing to Gene was his family and friends. Gene will be missed greatly.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Gail King; and his parents, Harold and Fannie Beth King.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughter, Sherry Leger and husband, Erin of Sulphur; son, Ron King Jr. and wife, Emily of Edmond, Okla.; four grandchildren, Kylie Doucet and husband, Corey, Macie Leger, Serenity and Vincent King; great-grandchildren, Bentley and Ella-Rose Leger; sister, Belinda Smith and husband, hunting buddy, Glenn; brother, Don King, and wife, Debbie; sister, Cheryl Hudson and Randy; brother, Lewis King and wife, Dinah; camp buddy, Randy Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 5 – 8  p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021 at Houston River Baptist Church and will resume at 9  a.m. on Friday at the church. 

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at Houston River Baptist Church in Sulphur. The Rev. Lonnie Gothrup will officiate. Burial will follow in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
