Edwin “Hank” Larkin passed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021.

He was born to Edwin A. Larkin Sr. and Mary Ethel Larkin in Humphrey, Ark on the 21st day of September, 1928. He graduated high school in Tallulah, Miss. where he entered the United States Navy and became an IC3. After returning home, he was a lumber inspector for many years before going to the Louisiana State Police where he served for 30 years.

He then joined the Beauregard Parish Sheriff Office for Bolivar Bishop for ten more years when he decided to hang his gun up for good. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the American Legion. All in good standings. He was on the Board of Directors at Cooper Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cris Larkin; granddaughters, Cristi and Dan Baggett, Robi Larkin Bailey, Kim and Mike Bernard, Tracy and Robert Henry; grandson, Bryan and Emily Nellis; step-grandsons, Eric and Mindy Runge, Jobi Boyle; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Larkin; daughter, Mary Louise Larkin Nellis; step-sons, Jimmy Boyle, Mark Boyle; parents, Edwin and Mary Ethel Larkin Sr.; brothers, Pat Larkin, Joe Larkin; sisters, Opal Larkin, Toots Larkin Kimes.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La. Dan Baggett and Pastor George Lee Glass will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Cooley, David Ludolph, Luke Leger, Alan Hanchey, Gary Barrett and Rufus Spikes. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery in Merryville, La.

Services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La.
