Betty Jean Granger, 72, passed away in a local hospital on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021.

She was born June 16, 1949 in Lake Charles, La. to Deus and Odette Granger.

She loved her family deeply and never met a stranger. Prior to retiring, she was employed with the Calcasieu Parish School Board for over 30 years. She enjoyed watching game shows, Days of Our Lives, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Sheree Richey (Jacob), Shelley Johnson (David), and Sonya Leonard; grandchildren, Destinie Woods, Breanna Harris (Jonathan), Kamron Woods (Hannah), Morgan Ducat, and Ethan Richey; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Hersey Granger, Nellwyn Leger, and Leon Granger; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ella Mae Fontenot; and brothers, Wesley and Jerry Granger.

Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m.

Visitation will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021 from 9 a.m. until services begin at 10 a.m. The Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Burial will follow at Lacassine Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
