Kenneth “Pete” Edward Hudson Jr

VINTON – Kenneth “Pete” Edward Hudson Jr., age 70, of Vinton, Louisiana passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021. Pete was born January 16, 1951 in Orange, TX to Kenneth Sr. & Agnes Poole Hudson.

Pete was a native and lifelong resident of Vinton. He was a 1969 graduate of Starks High School and later attended Sowela Technical School for welding and diesel mechanics. Pete was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was always known for helping many people through the years, especially with welding, working on rigs, and anything that had a motor! He worked as an owner/operator of a crude oil tanker and was leased out to Endeavor Tank. Pete enjoyed gardening, especially growing watermelon and some of the most beautiful potatoes you would ever see. He was a great mentor to his grandson, SPC. Kenneth Aaron Hudson and great-nephew, Sonny Hudson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Monnie “Fay” Horn Hudson of Vinton; his son, Kenneth “K.B.” Hudson (Katelyn) of Vinton; his daughter, Shawna Daley of Ft. Worth, TX., his grandchildren, CPL. Kenneth Aaron Hudson (Kaitlyn), Keeley Hudson and Lillian Elizabeth Hudson; his brothers, Robert “Poss” Hudson and Broderick Blake “Pierre” Hudson of Vinton; nephew, Robert Sam Hudson; niece, Rachelle Hudson Jeffers; and a host of extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Retha Pinder Hudson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11 a.m. in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
