It’s still a no-go for LSU running back John Emery.

SI.com reported Wednesday that the NCAA once again denied Emery’s appeal to regain academic eligibility for the season.

Emery has been practicing with the team during the efforts to get eligible.

The story said Emery’s attorney, Don Jackson, will pursue other options.

Meanwhile, LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said Wednesday that all-American cornerback Derek Stingley is not practicing. He missed last week’s Mississippi State game after aggravating the same foot injury that kept him out of most of August camp.

“He flew out of town to see a doctor, so we haven’t had any results,” Orgeron said. “We haven’t heard anything.”

Sophomore Dwight Mc-Glothern filled in for Stingley last week.

But LSU (3-1) will get back two backup players who weren’t eligible the first four games — wide receiver Jontre Kirklin and defensive lineman Soni Fonua.

“They’ve practiced hard the last four weeks,” Orgeron said. “They’re eligible and ready to play and I’m excited about that.”
