WA: Welsh at Hamilton Christian, Thursday. The Greyhounds have been impressive with a new spread offense led by RB Cohen Fontenot. The Warriors have won four in a row dating back to last season.

RA: Kinder at Loreauville. It will be a rematch of the Yellow Jackets thrilling double-overtime win over the Tigers in the Class 2A quarterfinals last season. Loreauville is ranked No. 7 in Class 2A while Kinder is coming off a tough loss Iowa after being down only two points at halftime.

Name a player to watch.

WA: Elton’s Sherman Bellow has accounted for 337 yards of offense and scored touchdowns via rushing, receiving and a kick return over the first two weeks.

RA: Vinton junior wide receiver Logan Beard has started the 2021 season on a tear with back-to-back 100-yard games. He caught a pair of touchdowns in the Lions’ season opening win over Elton and is averaging more than 16 yards a catch.

What is the best in-game small school matchup of the week?
