A jury in state district court is deliberating in Michael Paul Guillory’s rape trial.

Guillory, 32, is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl and molesting her 12-year-old friend while the girls were having a sleepover in October 2007. He is charged with forcible rape and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

The 13-year-old, now 20, said Guillory raped her in the bedroom, while the 12-year-old, now 18, said he exposed himself to her, kissed her and touched her.

Guillory did not testify in his own defense. Closing statements were given around noon and the jury left the courtroom to deliberate at 12:29 p.m.

Guillory’s sister testified Tuesday that among his numerous tattoos is one on his penis that reads “your name.” She has never seen it, but its existence is well known among family and friends, she said.

Both girls said they did not see a tattoo.

Prosecutor Shunette Thomas-Jordan asked the sister whether she told Guillory during a jail phone call Monday evening that she had the power of persuasion and was going to work her “magic” on the stand Tuesday.

Guillory’s sister said she did say that, but meant that she was going to take the stand and “act accordingly.”

Thomas-Jordan then asked Guillory’s sister whether he had asked her to make him look like the victim. Guillory had not, his sister said.

The defense recalled the older girl to the stand and questioned her on her account of the rape. She said that she, the younger girl, her mother and Guillory had been in the living room watching a movie. After they fell asleep in the living room, Guillory picked her up, carried her to the bedroom and raped her, she said.

Lt. Gerald Allen, patrol supervisor with the Calcasieu Sheriff’s Office, testified that in a report he wrote after taking a statement from the 13-year-old at the hospital, she said Guillory raped her when she went to the bedroom to get a blanket. She also said she fell on the bed while trying to get away from Guillory, Allen’s report stated.

Defense attorney Michael Antoon asked the girl if she remembered making those statements.

“All I remember is when he picked me up and brought me to the room,” she said. “I don’t remember going to get a blanket, I don’t remember falling on the bed.”(MGNonline)
