The man who was allegedly shot by his son Friday in Sulphur remains in critical condition, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim

Myers said.

The victim was airlifted to a local hospital after reportedly being shot by 42-year-old Chad D. Peshoff.

Myers said a motive for the shooting remains unknown.

Peshoff is accused of shooting his father at 427 Bankens Road Friday around noon. He then barricaded himself inside for several

hours.

Once establishing Peshoff was inside, authorities surrounded the home, set off a flash-bang grenade and then tear-gassed the

residence, Myers said.

After officers released tear gas into the home multiple times to force him out, Peshoff was arrested without injury around

4:30 p.m., she said. He is charged with attempted second-degree murder and is being held on a $750,000 bond.
