Two Lake Charles men have been arrested following weekend stabbing at Oasis Inn and Suites on North Lake Shore Drive, city police said.

Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said 21-year-old Juan Fernando, 2000 14th St., and 28-year-old Juan Martinez, 2000 Enterprise Boulevard, have been charged with attempted second-degree murder. Bond for both men has been set at $500,000.

Kraus said a man was stabbed Sunday in a guest room at the hotel and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

“Corporal J. Wall located the two suspects walking south on Bilbo Street near Broad,” Kraus said Tuesday in a news release. “Officers making the arrests were Wall, Corporal S. Dougherty and officer T. McGee. Detective Sergeant Fondel is handling the follow up investigation.”
