BATON ROUGE — LSU freshman defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao might not be able to play this season after he injured his arm punching through glass in the Tigers’ weight room.

LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette said Lealaimatafao was hospitalized Monday to treat a deep cut to his arm. School officials did not offer details as to why the player punched through glass, the severity of the injury or the effect it could have on his career.

The 6-foot, 300-pound Lealaimatafao was a coveted recruit who was expected to compete for playing time immediately.
