Lake Charles weekend weather update

<p class="p1">A wet and stormy pattern is expected into this weekend and next week. Expect to see showers and thunderstorms develop near the coast in the morning, and move inland throughout the day. Locally heavy rain and numerous lightning strikes are the primary threats.</p><p class="p1">In the tropics, a tropical wave in the Caribbean is expected to be in the eastern Gulf of Mexico by early next week. NHC gives this system a low (10%) chance for tropical development. This system has the potential to move further west towards our region by the middle to end of next week, so it will bear watching as we monitor it through this holiday weekend.</p><p class="p1">Potential Tropical Cyclone Six is way out in the Atlantic. It is expected to become a hurricane late this weekend, but it poses no threat to our region over the next week.</p>
